A few things finished - not much!

So we finally finished a couple of things!  This is the cabinet that holds this stove, sink & frig.
Even though he appears to be questioning what we are doing, Nemo does approve!

Window, window frame & screen - finished.  Although the door still needs a lot of help!

Grandbabies

So, our daughter, Katie's husband is getting deployed.  This means Katie, our 2 year old granddaughter, Kaia, and our coming any day now, grandson, Jax will be coming to live with us while our son-in-law is deployed.  YAY!!!  We are so excited!

So, I was telling my big boss about them coming and that I want to buy a swingset.  He says he's got one that we can have!  OMG!!!  So thrilled!!!  We picked it up on Sunday.  Got her home and set up by today!  (Ok, seriously, we have a lot of projects going all at once!)  Check it out!
Cynthia seems to be praying to not have to do this!

Kitsch

kitsch
noun
something of tawdry design, appearance, or content created to appeal to popular or undiscriminating taste.

kitsch  [( kich )]
Works of art and other objects (such as furniture) that are meant to look costly but actually are in poor taste.

We totally need kitsch!  Cynthia has said I don't get to kitsch it out.  But, I do get to a little!  Like so:

Ok, seriously, the sink is just The Sink.  I just wanted to show off the colors!
And, to be really fun - we show off our lesbian flair!  It is the only rainbow stuff that will be in the trailer!

Yay!  Fun times are coming soon!!!

The bike.

So, several years ago - 38 to be exact - my father bought me my first 3 speed bike when I had turned 10.  (Yes, this makes me 48!)  Believe it or not, I still have it!  OMG!  It is so ugly.  Being that we have a vintage travel trailer...we need a vintage bike to go with it.  AND, match it!  This is what it looked like for the past 38 years:

Now, she looks like this:

Yep, you guessed it.  She is gonna match the trailer...kinda.  I'm putting turquoise spots on her!  And, yes, she is a girl.  Her name is TEASE!  lol  She should be done this week.  (Ya, right!)

This is where we are at...

Well, D. has been working hard on getting the back end finished.  He's got the curb side done - now on to the street side.  Since Cynthia and I can't do much with the inside until the floor is finished we have been working on the innards - out.  We have all the windows out now and are in the process of painting & cleaning them.  All the screen frames have been painted and have new screen in them.  Oh, they look soooo good!!!  We finished the face of the sink cupboard last week - just have to glue/nail it on now.  Cynthia found a really good piece of counter top in the garage!  Amazing!  It's color is perfect!  There is enough for the sink counter top and enough for the new counter we are going to build on the opposite side.  But, unfortunately there is not enough for the kitchen table.  Thank the Gods for Pinterest!!!  We have got some wonderful ideas and we are going to cover the table top with flooring.  Should be cute!

We have picked out the colors...finally!  All the walls and cupboards will be a pale buttercup yellow.  The door & drawer fronts will be the palest turquoise.  The outside of the trailer will be pure white (duh) with a ribbon of bright turquoise and a pin stripe of bright yellow.  Most likely, the inside will be just muted colors - kind of a "shabby sheek" look.  Completely comfortable and laid back like us!

Ok, so I'm a little behind...

Here are the latest pics:

Measure three times.  Drill once.  Ooops!

Seriously, it's summer right?

Hell.  Oh, I mean HAIL.

This is the front awning.  It was in really bad shape.  A little vinegar and paint is fixing it right up!

Window frame painted, new glass & new screen.  So pretty!

New face for the sink cupboard.

Cynthia has really been working hard on the old floor.

Apparently, we work too much on the trailer!

Abby & Daisy - "Are you two EVER gonna finish tonight?"

Nemo - "Seriously, who cares when you finish."

"Thank goodness - they finished for the night & fed us!  We were sure we were gonna starve!"
